Well there is a lot to say about this show but its not all going to be mentioned in this report or I'll be here all day!! Donny North in my eyes is always one of the best shows and after a long winter everybody is anxious to see the new projects and the new face lifts on old projects!! This year wasn't any different, lots of new projects were brought out including Sarah's Golf and Ric's Civic, which were both in the "Best of Britain" - congratulations to both for getting in there... also an even bigger congratulations to Ric who won "Best Paint", so again well done mate!

Right Isuppose we should start at the beginning... the usual shopping outing took place after the weekly pub meet on Thursday night, where peoples emotions were getting high as this was our first big show of 2007!! This year for a change it wasn't Binnsy that we were waiting for, it was infact me and Andy, working hard through the night to get his Pulsar up and running ready for the show, it was a hard push but we got there in the end. We all met at Raunds Football Club ready for the convoy, we aimed to leave at 1 but in the usual S-L fashion we were late!! We headed off but had to call in a local DIY shop on the way, to get the vital BBQ to supply us our food for the weekend, any way once on route we headed off but our convoy shortly broke up due to the M1 being shut, so we headed off through leicester and finally made it to Donington Park!

Once at Donny, we headed off to the campsite to set up, but shortly after most peoples tents were up, security decided to be "Numptys" (Esp number 42... for those who were there) and tried to move us on, but we put up a fight and managed to stay put! Our positioning on the camp site put us in prime position for the "Grass Drift Track" which over the weekend provided us with some top moments including Gary's dingy drifting!!!

With camp set up, the drink started flowing and the S-L mini rave took place. All night grooving away with Karl's Pug providing the disco. Some top memories including Matt Maitland and Celene doing a bit of wrestling!! Gary's engineering and fire talk, and just plain drunken behavoir.

So Saturday seemed to spring upon us quite quickly which meant off to the show stand, after a massive queue into the show and a bit of poor organising (not on our behalf) we managed to get our stand set up, we had some really nice cars and I would personally like to thank everybody that turned up and made the effort to come with us! Its very much appreciated!! Saturday saw some awesome cars in the show, and also some nice ladies! All in all a top day, everybody is going to have their own memories of the show, and different opinions on the cars, but the show was huge again and didnt fail to amaze!! So after the show it was back off to camp, where once again the fun began!

Firstly it was Matt's mission to turn off every light in the campsite which he did with honour managing all in all to take out 11 lights (thats an all time record mate), again the drink was flowing but this time it was a bit more heavy, along with the "Boro lots" phantom tent! Everyone was wasted in time for the dance tent. Alot can be said for the dance then this year... very "Random" first was some beat boxing from Fozzy, then the "Circus of Horrors show" with our very own "mongoleon laughing man" takin part in the activities! After was a hardcore set of Drum n Bass which was wicked, and saw the most hardcore S-L members rave on into the night (well until the light came on in the dance tent)... once back at camp we made a huge fire, which got abit out of hand but hey no harm was done! The fire burnt low so we decided to hit the sack at about 4.00 ish ready for the last day.

Sunday saw alot of tired and hung over people, it had been a long weekend but this wasn't going to stop us in our tracks, back to the show for the last hurdle... again the show was pretty mental and saw alot of fun and games take place. Some top cars hit the track, and to close the show the awards were given out... as said earlier Ric and his aweosme Civic took home Best Paint, unluckily Sarah's Golf went home without an award, but its an achievement getting into the "Best of Britain" alone and we're very proud of you. Best Club Stand went to X2C, awesome stand and well deserved guys!

We all then ventured our own routes back home for a well deserved sleep on bank holiday Monday!

Top show guys and girls, thanks for being part of S-L... it will soon be Donny 08!! See you all at the next one!
