I think its been 5 months since the last show, so when Fast Show was finally coming up, I was so excited to finally get back into the swing of the car show season! It has been a long time coming for us all on SL, so this was a big build up after it being soo long since we last went to pod! After planning the show, back in January I beleive, it has been great to get the old members back onto the site and stand, as well as new faces too!
After booking the stand it was great to know that we wernt going to be in mud unlike last year, we were on nice tarmac, even if we did get a bit of tyre dust from the drifting on the cars which was really annoying, but better than mud!
Most of us met at Raunds BP at 8am, and for once we were all actually there and wernt waiting around for ages like we normally would - a good start! We made the drive over to Wellingborough Tesco where Tegboy got some excellent rolling shots of the cars! When we got to Tesco it was great to see all the gang!
We finally got to Santa Pod and got in the queue to the gates which seemed like it was going to last forever! It was great to see some great cars in the queue, so it was good to know all this build up was worth it!!
After about an hour we got to the stand, some cars were covered in mess from the roads, but nothing a bit of a quick wash couldn't fix! The stand was looking great, good to see Mr Pulsar's very sexy Evo 5, Gav in his Pulsar, the Civics together as well as the euro boys too! Matty made his debut too in his stunning car too after all the hard work had definitely paid off! Well done mate!
Once the stand was all done, the cars were definitely getting some attention, and hopefully at our next show we will have even more cars with us with the likes of Steve's Corsa Turbo, Kaylee's Pop and Gaffa's NX!
After walking around the show we watched the drifting, had a look at the Show and Shine which had our friend Mental ZS in there, and did see some of the same old cars in there that weren't any different, and did see some new cars which were looking great too! The Hoola girl was even spotted too. We all watched some of the strip action too, which to be fair was rubbish!! Some poor bloke had his boot pop up while driving up the strip and the times got slower and slower as the day got on! Time for you boys to get down that strip I think!! People also took time out to watch Richie Don, does everybody still have that Max Power CD from years ago??
After a bit of rain I think its fair to say the show did kind of get a bit boring, but its the first show, and there would of been a lot more people gone to it if the weather reports hadn't been rain all weekend, but all in all it was good!!
When we all decided to leave, we were stuck in traffic trying to get out, and very unlucky for me, Sam , kaylee, and Anton, we happened to be in the path of where the jet car was, so when Odders pointed and laughed at us from Andy's Scooby we didn't know what he was doing until the car was hidden in the smoke from the jet car, and I think it even went in Anton's car! We thought our windows were going to smash!
Personally I think the show was good, it was what I expected for the first show of the year, and was good to get everybody together! A big thanks for everybody who made the effort to come to the show, it really is appreciated, and for the likes of Mr Pulsar who came from London, the Oxford gang (there is too many to name!) and people like Matty who I know got his car trailored to the show and was working on it till very late at night it really is great you all do this for the club!
The next show is now Donny so bring on the rave action, drink and even more cars!!
