Date: Sunday 24th June 2007
Location: Santa Pod Raceway
Report Author: Dan Ward

An early Sunday morning start is never favoured by the lads, but sure enough we managed to drag ourselves out of bed to attend a rather damp JapShow. I had already gone and collected the flags and banners, so we just shoved it all in the boot of the Corsa and headed down to Pod. Me, Titch and Ricc started to set up the stand, which was later completed when the Peterborough boys and Elmo turned up! The stand was small, and made entirely of the SL Honda crew, but it was ours and we loved it!

Show & Shine

The show itself, although wet throughout most of the day, was packed with visitors and clubs, with Jap cars of all kinds parked all over the Santa Pod grounds. The Show & Shine contained a very high pedigree of cars, especially our very own Elmo's Civic which was gleaming and attracting much attention.

SL's drift kings (aka Dan Eyles & Midget) were at it all day in the Live Action Arena, burning rubber and tearing up the tarmac infront of hundred of onlookers. Dan took me out in the Skyline just before he went home, this was the second time hes taken me out and my god is it fun! If you've never been in a drift car - trust me when I say you have to!

JapSpeed Skyline

Unfortunately there was no track action, as the rain throughout the day just wouldn't let the sweepers and dryers prepare the track. This was a big shame as we didn't get to see the HKS Pro Drag series, but Terry Grant was on hand to amaze the crowds with his stunts.

Overall the show was a good one for the few of us who went, with highlights including Ed's umbrella-ella-ay-ay, Crazy Udders, Funky Power, and plenty of rain! Bring on the next show!
