Mod Nats was always going to be a good but tense show for SL as we wanted to retain our title as Mod Nats winners in 2007. We set off in convoy on Friday and went to Binnsy's house to grab a few bits and bobs... first hick up was the police pulling up outside Binnsy's and giving us grief, but that was shortly sorted, so it was ok.

Anyway, we set off on our convoy to Mod Nats, it was a slow drive but if you saw how full most peoples cars were (esp scrappy Dave's Corsa... full to the roof of bits and bobs) you would see why we took it slow!
Once we made it into the show, half of us went to set up the stand and the other half went to set up camp, our new marquee was the first obstacle, which didnt take as long as expected to put up (although it still took just over 2 hours... lol). Once the marquee was up, and adam was soaked through due to rolling on the floor under it attaching the bungee cords, the main focal point was there. Binnsy then turned up with our show car trailor which we all put up and then started to fill the marquee. We then attempted to get the disco equipment working... well lets say after about half an hour when we did finally get it to work the cheers started! All of us jiving and setting up was cool!

So off to camp to find some of the tents that had been put up were a bit worse for ware... and after about 5 minutes of BBQ action, the gas runs out grrr! Oh well, there was loads of spirits and beers to make up for it, but unfortunately some people took advantage of the alcohol more than others including Tom and Craig (1 of our new members) both absolutely out of it, but so, so funny to be around! Nice one guys. Night had rolled in so in true SL fashion it was time to go to the dance tent, this year it was Liquid night club on friday night, tunes were cool and a good time was had by everyone! Not too much happened this night (well compared to Saturday night) but there were alot of hung over people on Saturday morning!
At the stand on Saturday, as people rolled in we positioned them in place and to be honest I thought the stand looked amazing, we had such a good mixture of cars ranging from standard to fully modified, older to new! The sun was out, the disco was on and we had a really big crowd all day around the stand with alot of interest in the site. Also alot of interest was aimed at the new Civic built by Skillz Customs, the fully graffiti'd wide arched Civic really was something else and fair play to Kanon for doing that! There was a really good range of cars at the show, and two of the SL cars were again in the Top 25 paddock (Ric's Civic and Sarah's Golf) so well done for that!

As the day came to a close some people went off to hotels, some went home and the others went to camp, unfortunately the night turned cold and wet... but that didnt stop us lot, everyone filled up with food on the re-gassed BBQ, then Hals tent started to fill up with something else! Some very drunk people started to appear (after about an hour) and I've gotta give it to Tom, he actually made me laugh that much i gave myself a headache!!! The drift arena started to get into action (not a real drift arena but some idiots attempting to drift in the field), this ended in tears as one lad took out a tent... NOT GOOD!! So off to Gods Kitchen, which was awesome! Some people went on the fair ground rides, and others hit the FastCar bar. I know me and a few others (Adam, Shorty, Titch, Luke, Odders think thats it) ended up in some other websites party at about 3.30 in the morning which was class!!
Sunday soon rolled round in what felt about 5 minutes, again we set up the stand but due to the weather most of us stayed in the marquee and jived!! Gotta give it up for MC Neil (Turbo Bubble), and to Gaffa (who actually can MC unlike Neil). And thanks goes to Roy from me for bringing his Cortina in such crappy weather! And an even bigger thanks goes to everybody that turned up, because in true SL style we did what we do best!

Along came the judges and told us to be at the stage as we had won a trophy... so off to the stage in the back of Binnsy's pick up (only about 15 of us!) where it was a bit tense as we really wanted to defend our title... 3rd place, not us... 2nd place, not us... 1st place goes to "STREET-LEGAL" absolutely awesome!! Loads of us piled onto the stage to get our trophy, just as we are about to leave we are called back, not just 1 trophy but another, a repeat of last year! Awesome news, couldnt have asked for anything more!!! It was raining, it was freezing cold and we had to pack everything up, but it really didnt matter, we are champions again for another year!!! Thanks to everyone who helped clear up at the end but most of all... a massive thanks to all the SL members on behalf of the Street-Legal Admin! We can't do it without you guys.
