Date: Saturday 5th - Sunday 6th May 2007
Location: Santa Pod Raceway, Northants
Report Author: Dan Ward

This was a brand new show for 2007 at Santa Pod, so we thought we'd represent SL and have ourselves a stand at the show. Not everyone could make it but the turn out was quite good, with some people camping over, some running in the RWYB, and the rest just living the life of a modified car enthusiast!

I went down early on the Saturday morning to greet some of the lads at the gate, hand out passes, and help them get there tents set up. We found our stand pretty quickly (for once!) and got on with setting up the tents straight away, there were a couple of new boys (and girl) joining the Peterborough lot, and it was great to meet new faces! After a little while of setting up, and a piss poor effort by Coopz at tent construction, the camp was done, and placed right behind the stand for minimal walking distance!

We checked out the show but it was quite dead as it was still quite early on the first morning, however the few cars that were there were looking good. I left at lunch time to take care of a few things but I was informed of the nights madness the next day! All I will say is that when I got there on the Sunday morning, our stand had acquired some picnic benches, evidence of a big fire, and some big grins on the campers faces!

On the Sunday our stand was much better, with pretty much our whole space filled with cars, including DJ RM DJing from the back of his new FTO through the pumping sound system of a Fusion Focus, and a big crowd to boot.

Steve (Pug106) meanwhile was running some impressive times down the track, his best time being a 12.5 in his hand made C20LET Corsa! He nearly won his class in the RWYB, but was just pipped to it by a mental Turbo Vtec Civic. Unlucky Steve, I'm sure you'll be raking in those trophies very soon.

In the Show & Shine there were some stunning motors. Congratulations to Ric (mental Civic) for picking up Best of Show, and to MentalZS for winning Best Paint! Also competing elsewhere, the SL girlies entered into Miss PTM and congrats to Holly for coming second.

So at the end of show, although it wasn't the biggest or busiest ever, the SL guys and girls enjoyed themselves and will almost certainly be attending next years show.
